This month marks a rather exciting time for my wife and me, as it was a year ago, on November 5th, that we were married! The first anniversary serves as an important milestone for us, as it marks a full year of not having to plan a wedding. Not planning a wedding is a great way to spend a year, and we are looking forward to many more years of the same! As this year is traditionally known as the paper anniversary, I had originally planned on making some origami for my wife and calling it day. I was promptly made aware that this would not be acceptable. In the end, we decided on a trip to Okinawa.

OK, here it is, time for the second post. I have finally finished tweaking all the nuts and bolts of the site and have put the finishing touches on the design. As is the case with most things I make, I’m not 100% satisfied with it. I have often heard it said, especially within the art and design community, that you are your own worst critic. This is something that I agree with whole-heartedly, and I can personally vouch that it is true. Until you get married.

Hello, and welcome to the first post! For those who are not aware, my name is Josh, and I am currently both married and residing in Japan. Hence the name of this blog! My intent with this endeavor is to provide myself with an outlet for the many fascinating and insightful, um.., insights that I have about marriage and Japanese life in general. Being fairly new to both of these situations has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and experience about a wide variety of subjects, both social and cultural.
